Microsoft launches their new website yesterday (Dec, 14). I got the news from Digg and eager to see it.

While loading and its blue-ish background and black topbar revealed, I thought hey.. it looks better than the old one. But then.. ugh, where is the main image? Is it supposed to be left empty? But even after the browser stops loading, all displayed in my Firefox is this:

Is it because I open it in Firefox? How can... ah, nevermind. So, then I open it in Internet Explorer 6. But what I got is even worse! (Tho' the main pic is loaded) :P

Whoa.. is it just me? Is it because I'm still using SP1? Come on, I haven't heard a website that requires SP2 to run smoothly.. :P How could it be? Why... ah, whatever lah! :)

(FYI, even as I write this entry I still hit the reload button over and over...:))

Yet, (still confusing) I click one of the link on the right. Hey.. what's with that window? Being also a graphic designer I always give extra attention to whitespaces and alignments. To me, it's not even placed proportionally.

Well, I wonder what happened if I click one of the thumbs? Voila.. surprisingly it opens the contents with the old design! Half-done and they already launch the website? Come on... :)

Still confused, I hit the browser's back button to browse for other contents. What the...? Hey, where's that clumsily placed small window before? It loads back to the main page! (Still, with the missing pics)

Well.. Microsoft's new website is indeed full of surprises with lots of 'oohs', 'aahs', 'heys' and 'wows'! :P

For unknown reasons, it looks better now in IE. (Though in my Firefox nothing's changed)

There are 3 ads I like recently.

The first one is Sony with their new tagline "like.no.other". I think that's a very cool and smart tagline. It simply says that Sony's products are the best products different from any other competitors' but at the same time it somehow also suggests to "hate any other product but Sony". Smart, eh?

The second one is Sony Ericsson's "I love music" where the word 'love' is replaced with Sony Ericsson logo. I love the rain. I love my long commute. I love the company. I love it loud. I love shopping. I love to unwind. I love being a substitute. I love working late. I love losing myself. I love missing the last bus home...

And the last one is the Nokia's ad which uses "Digital Love" song by Daft Punk. It's a really cool song and I instantly like it the first time I heard it in that ad. And oh, if you want to have the MP3 you can visit this blog. Thanks to the blog owner.

Waa.. t'nyata laptop gue sehat wal afiat. :D Kemarin tnyata cuma power supply connectornya-nya yang longgar. Jadi begitu baterenya abis, blep... ya padam total. Dicolokin AC Adaptor ya juga nggak ngaruh.. :)

Kalo batere sih emang udah parah. Humm.. looks like I only have to buy a new battery... Well, welcome back Firefly!

What the heck is e-Acehnias doing in a site of trance music info from Netherland?

I was Googling the keyword 'e-acehnias' last night wondering in case there are some links to my recently finished work, when I stumbled on the site. It happenned that there is a tag <... alt="E-Acehnias"> somewhere in the site's HTML coding. Humm.. what is that? So I take a look at the source code:

and compared it to Digitalgrafis portfolio section's source code:

Waa.. could it be...? ;) Wasn't really sure, I compared another section of the code and couldn't help to see the similarity of the div tag and coding structure between them.

Coincident? You tell me, but I doubt it! :P Actually, at first glance of the website look I was already suspicious:

Well, I guess I'll write them asking what so 'trance' about e-Acehnias that they fav it... :P Humm.. I might not get any reply since they said that "Currently we are working VERY HARD on the new website of Extranza!" Duhh...

Actually, what I really want to have is this book by Josef Muller-Brockmann as I want to learn about the grid system, but I couldn't seem to find it anywhere here. So, when accompanying Nina to Gunung Agung this afternoon, I found this book "Making and Breaking The Grid" and decided to buy it. I think I'll read it tonight and I hope it's useful... :)
